Catholics Come Home, a lay Catholic apostolate aimed at bringing fallen away Catholics back to the Church and strengthening the faith journey of active Catholics, will be featured in a two-part series dedicated to The New Evangelization starting today.

Tom Peterson, its founder and a longtime Phoenix Catholic, will be on EWTN TV‘s “Women of Grace.” Today’s original airing already lapsed, but you can catch the encore showing at 11:30 p.m. ET. Its focus: Bringing Them Home — The New Evangelization.”

Tune in to “Women of Grace” again tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET (encore 11:30 p.m. ET) when Peterson will again be the guest. This time, he’ll focus on “Electronic  Communications and Evangelization.”

Peterson also appeared on EWTN’s “Sunday Night Live” earlier this month.

Phoenix-area Catholics might remember Tom Peterson’s name or Catholics Come Home when he used the diocese as a test market for the network TV commercials in 2008. They showcased the Catholic faith and inviting those who have fallen away to give the Church another try.

Viewers in eight dioceses nationwide will see the commercials in English, Spanish and Polish during December and January.

On a side note, somewhat related to the New Evangelization, I ran across one of Burt Wolf’s traveling series on PBS Saturday night. His focus: Vatican City. I found it fascinating and pray that it too, contributed to the New Evangelization, even if a fallen away Catholic only saw parts of it while watching “Saturday Night Live” or other late night programming.
