Thérese: The Movie and other ETWN highlights
The story of St. Thérese of Lisieux was is nothing new, but its latest medium for portraying the “little flower” is. “Thérese: Ordinary Girl, Extraordinary Soul” will make its television debut on EWTN Dec. 8.
It tells the story of St. Thérese of Lisieux, “a young girl who fell in love with Jesus Christ and demonstrated a path of spirituality through her actions of unconditional love and human compassion,” according to program notes. Be sure to tune in early for an interview with actor and director Leonardo Defilippis on EWTN Live immediately preceding the film.
EWTN Live starts at 8 p.m. Eastern Time with the 96-minute film following at 9 p.m. Eastern time. “Thérese” came to the silver screen in 2004 and is available on DVD (alongside other Luke Films).

As a side note, “Thérese: the Story of a Soul” made its way around several dioceses nationwide in recent years as a live drama.
The “Thérese” movie isn’t the only special on EWTN this month. Other December specials on EWTN include weekly Advent reflections, a three-part series with Fr. Corapi on why Catholics leave the Church, bio of St. Damien, a four-part look at St. John of the Cross and Christmas music.
