Grief and Loss retreat — June 4-6 at The Casa in Scottsdale.

Exposition and Benediction — 7 p.m. June 4 at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral. In honor of Saturday’s priestly ordination.

Car wash benefiting Catholic family in vacation car accident — 7 a.m.-1 p.m. June 5 at Circle K at Rural/Baseline roads. The De La Garza family with an eighth grader and fifth grader at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Tempe was in a car accident while vacationing in California. The mom’s condition is the gravest — both lungs collapsed, two broken collar bones, a broken arm and fractured skull — and will spend another 2-3 weeks in a CA hospital. Proceeds from the car wash will help with the family’s miscellaneous costs including non-perishable food and gas.

All eyes will be on Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral this weekend as three men will be ordained to the priesthood June 5.

Ordination to the priesthood — 10 a.m. June 5 at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral. Three young men will be ordained a priest. Read about their journey to the altar.

SUNDAY

Priests first Masses — 9 and 11 a.m. June 6 at St. Theresa Parish; 2 p.m. at St. Mary Parish in Chandler.

Justice Garden sale — 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. June 6 at St. Bridget Parish in Mesa. Parishioners grow organic produce and sell it at the Justice Garden Market after Sunday Masses. Then they give all donations to the parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Society. Its gardeners say the parish is the best place to buy affordable organic produce.

Pastor installation — 9:30 a.m. June 6 at St. Vincent de Paul Parish. Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted will install Fr. Kilian McCaffrey, pastoral administrator for the past year, as pastor of the West Valley parish.

Catholic day camp for girls registration deadline — June 6. Challenge, a Catholic girls club in the Phoenix Diocese, is hosting a day camp for 4th and 5th Graders 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 14-18 at St. Daniel the Prophet Parish in Scottsdale. Learn more and register.

Seton student heads to FBI-sponsored leadership academy — June 6 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. The intensive weeklong leadership development course will allow Kendall Koliboski, a freshman at Seton Catholic Preparatory High School in Chandler, a chance to learn about criminal justice, police organization and function, and criminal law and courts. Students can test for up to three college credits at the end of the program.
