Good Friday reminders
Here are a few reminders to help you observe Good Friday:
-

The crucifix outside of Mount Claret's meeting area reminds Catholics that because of Christ's suffering, there's also a glorious resurrection.
Day of fasting
— If you’re 18-59 years old, limit yourself to one full meatless meal. The USCCB offers some detail on the matter. - Pray for the unborn — Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted will join other Catholics praying in front of Planned Parenthood, 4417 N. 7th Ave. for a noon rosary.
- Join in the Sanctity of Life stations — Meditate on the sufferings of Christ as you dedicate the stations to prisoners, victims, and families who are connected in any way to capital punishment. It’s at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Scottsdale.
- Goody Friday service — Can’t get in the pew? Tune in to AZ-TV or Immaculate Heart Radio AM 1310. The service from Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral with the bishop will be carried live on both stations.
- Holy Land collection — Good Friday means its time for the annual Holy Land collection at all parishes. Support what you can.
- Procession — I casually heard after In Presenza Di last night that young adults will carry a cross from St. Joseph Parish to Blessed Sacrament in Scottsdale where they’ll attend the 7 p.m. Good Friday service. I think it starts at 4:30 p.m. It could have been 4 p.m. though. Check with Our Godspot or its Facebook page to find out more.
