C-Span recognizes Brophy student
Of the record number of entries received for this year’s Student Cam competition (1,003), C-Span said a piece by a Brophy senior was among the best quality.
The news station announced 75 winners last week including Brophy senior Ryan Donahue, who earned honorable mention.
The competition challenged middle and high school students to create a five-to-eight-minute documentary addressing one of the country’s greatest strengths or a challenge its facing. Donahue’s submission spent almost the maximum allotted time addressing “The National Debt.” See it for yourself.
On a related note, C-Span will bring its Civic Bus Tour to the Brophy campus today. Professionals working in public service journalisn will talk with Brophy’s journalists about government and media production and let them tour its mobile TV studio.
