Support Catholic radio
Immaculate Heart Radio started its first Phoenix pledge drive today. The lay radio apostolate launched KIHP, AM 1310 in Phoenix in December and now needs local listeners to support its work. Call (602) 840-6064.
Tune in now or listen online. They’re talking about Fr. John Corapi right now as I type. The dynamic priest has a solid conversion story. His story on CD is one of many thank you gifts available to donors who make a pledge.
“They bless us and we bless them in return,” Janette Parker, event coordinator told me earlier when I took some pictures of the pledge drive.
Some 55 local volunteers are setting aside time beginning at 6 a.m. each morning through Thursday to take your pledge. They’re set up at Mount Claret retreat center.
Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted spent an hour or so in studio this morning. We just missed each other, but I heard him through my car radio on the way over. He touched on many subjects including the Year for Priests, Covenant of Love and the vital role of Immaculate Heart Radio.
We are so grateful for the assistance that Catholic radio brings us in the mission of evangelization, the bishop said.
Immaculate Heart Radio has a target goal of pledges per hour. I haven’t heard what that is yet, but as the bishop was wrapping up his time on air this morning, the Catholic Phoenix radio station needed three more to reach its goal. The bishop assured leaders that those calls would come through:
The Blessed Trinity will help us reach those three.
The station has already had an untold reach. Tune in and you’ll hear countless testimonial clips of how the station has changed lives. I know “Mom’s taxi” is a lot more inspirational now.
By the way, keep an eye out for new billboards around the Valley advertising the station.
I think the words and artwork are dead on and will only strengthen local reach and support of Immaculate Heart Radio.
