Blessing of the Throats
Filed under : From the Staff, Local News
Did you get your throat blessed yesterday in honor of the feast of St. Blaise?

St. Blaise
I heard about a local Catholic several months ago who got her throat blessed as a teenager just before a horrific car crash. It sounds like St. Blaise was her intercessor:
During the accident, her head went through the windshield cutting her face, arms, and other parts of her body. Paramedics and hospital personnel were amazed that her throat was resting on jagged pieces of the windshield, yet bore no cuts, scrapes, nothing. She suffered internal and external injuries, but her throat was uninjured.
The damage was severe enough to earn her the nickname Frankenstein’s Bride.
