Maggie’s Place ready to rebuild
Nearly a year after an electrical fire forced several women and their infants out of their home on New Year’s Day, The Magdalene House, is ready to rebuild. Call (602) 262-5555 to help.

Volunteers clean up after a house fire Jan. 1. The rebuilding process is now underway.
The latest e-newsletter from Maggie’s Place, which runs The Magdalene House and four other houses of hospitality across the country, announced that it received permits to begin rebuilding. The work was supposed to be finished in two to four months, but work on the 1920s bungalow near downtown Phoenix quickly ran into various permit issues with the city.
The Magdalene House was the first home for pregnant moms and their babies that Maggie’s Place opened nearly 10 years ago. Maggie’s Place has since opened two other group homes in Arizona. Live-in staff volunteer a year or more of their lives to help these moms who would otherwise face pregnancy and the first months of motherhood alone.
Maggie’s Place also operates one home in Idaho and another in Ohio.
