Dine out to help out
I found out more about tomorrow’s “Dine out to help out” opportunity at any of the eight Sweet Tomatoes locations. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul gets 10 percent of the restaurant’s proceeds.
While you’re building your own master salad plate, helping yourself to homemade soup or enjoying your meal, feel free to quiz the restaurant staff about their experience helping St. Vincent de Paul clients.
The restaurant is in charge of the Family Dining Room tonight at the St.Vincent de Paul headquarters and they’re bringing their ingredients with them. They’ll offer some 500 people a full meal including the restaurant’s most popular menu items.
Guests will also get Chicken Pot Pie Stew — this month’s featured item — salad and muffins. Check the online menu, but be patient as it’s down at the moment.
By the way, if this format of allowing restaurant workers to serve at St. Vincent de Paul and then donating a portion of its own proceeds back to the organization sounds familiar, that’s because Valley First Watch restaurants do such a thing every September on “Free Omelet Day.”
