Looking for a “Respect Life” activity this fall? There’s always several options for Catholics in the Phoenix area:

Race 4 Maggie’s Place — It’s not until Nov. 8 at Tempe Beach Park, but the early registration deadline is tomorrow. All proceeds from the 9k run, 3k walk, and .9 mile sprint — there’s also a free kid’s dash — support Maggie’s Place, which operates three community homes for pregnant moms and their babies in the Valley and another in Ohio and Idaho.

The first baby was born at the new Zechariah House in Cleveland this summer. The local bishop said Mass at the house for its grand opening. The Mary House in Idaho recently began serving moms with toddlers as well, a first for Maggie’s Place, which for nearly 10 years has specialized in serving pregnant moms and their babies up to six months old.

40 Days for Life — The annual fast and prayer vigil to end abortion begins Sept. 23. Join the prayer kick off Sept. 20. The event features music, prayer fellowship and speakers including Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted.

1st Way — Join 1st Way as it unveils the new HOPE Ultrasound Mobile Unit. Its one of seven in the country. The mobile ultrasound unit will be stationed near abortion clinics and at churches, teen agencies and other pregnancy centers across the Valley and provide pregnant women with a free look at the growth and development of their unborn baby.

The kickoff is 4-7 p.m. Sept. 26 at Bethany Bible Church, 6060 N. 7th Ave. Event includes music, food and family fun. For more information, call 1st Way at (602) 261-7522.
