Change coming to adult catechism
The U.S. Bishops recently got a “recognitio” from the Vatican to change , or clarify, the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults.
The concise, user-friendly introduction to the Catholic faith was first approved by the U.S. Bishops in 2004 and released in 2006. The book is set to go into a second printing.
To see what wording will change, read the full press release from the U.S. Bishops’ Office.
Catholics throughout the diocese began studying the adult version of the catechism almost immediately. Many involved in the Why Catholic? program read or at least reference the book.
Catechists undergoing formation or certification in the diocese may study the book as well.
