Issue preview: Aug. 20, 2009
The next issue of The Catholic Sun is packed with photos, a luxury we don’t often enjoy with a lower page count. We’re running a lot of photos from the Knights of Columbus Guadalupe Festival (see videos here) as well as their international congress, which was held in Phoenix this year.
You’ll also find photos from different Catholics schools. Those photos accompany a story on Catholic school classes opening after the summer months. Page 2 is again full with briefs on local events, and you’ll also find stories on building improvement in Anthem and Bullhead City.
Andrew reviews a children’s book about the importance of Mass and Becca takes on “District 9,” which opened last night. This issue, Your Catholic Priest is Fr. Charlie Goraieb (be sure to read this one in particular as it tells Fr. Goraieb’s colorful path to the priesthood).
Another thing you’ll notice is our sections. Instead of starting “views” on page 8, we’ve bumped that back to page 16. That let’s us keep all our local news together. The views section kicks off with a larger, bolder folio — which we hope makes that section stand out more. (It won’t always be on page 16, by the way. It will move depending on how many pages we have in our local Church section). We also have bolder section headers for nation/world and media. We hope that these minor changes will help you better navigate the pages on The Catholic Sun.
