CatholicTV celebrates Year for Priests
The Catholic Sun is featuring its"Your Catholic Priest" column through June 2010. CatholicTV is amping up its priestly features this month.
Appropriately, it seems many parishes, dioceses and other Catholic groups are creating ways to honor the Church’s spiritual leaders during the Year for Priests.
As our readers should know, The Catholic Sun is profiling Phoenix priests in its regular “Your Catholic Priest” feature.
“Feed My Sheep” is a television series along the same lines. CatholicTV originally broadcast the series several years ago. It takes viewers inside the minds of priests nationwide who are involved in various ministries. They address standard questions like:
- What motivated yo to look to the priesthood?
- How do you remain a man of prayer?
- When you meet Jesus face to face, what words would you expect to hear?
- What has had the most significant impact upon your ministry as a priest?
Fr. Robert Reed, director of CatholicTV, hosts the weekly series. Watch it 12:30 p.m. Mondays, and 8:30 p.m. Saturdays on CatholicTV and online.
This month, CatholicTV will amp up its focus on priests and the priesthood.

The cable television station, which streams simultaneously online, increases its focus this month to highlight even more priests and religous brothers.
Two regular programs will focus solely on the priesthood in August:
- “The Call” — normally promotes various religious orders, but will look at the priesthood and brotherhood this month
- “Catholic Saints and Lay People” — normally focuses on Catholic saints and laypeople, but will focus on notable priests throughout August.
Other priestly programs to check out:
- “St. Paul: the man and his message”
- “Conversations with Cardinal Sean” — a talk show with Cardinal Sean O’Malley, archbishop of Boston
- “Word on Fire” — Learn about the Word of God, the seven deadly sins, conversion and following your call
- “Prayer in the Catechism”
- “Wow! The Catholic TV Challenge” — featuring third grade contestants
