One man's decision to drive drunk affected his life and ended three others.

Eleven years ago, David Emigh made one decision that resulted in him waking up handcuffed to a hospital bed. Beside him was the sheriff who said, “Son, you just killed three people.”

CatholicTV will air more of his story in “One Decision.” tomorrow. You may have caught the documentary earlier this week. It airs one final time Sunday at 10:30 p.m. Eastern time. All programming is streamed simultaneously online.

Emigh, who grew up in a family of faith, served internationally and wanted to become a teacher, made one poor decision that led to five months in prison and years of probation. He talks in the documentary about being “a tool of God” while in prison giving a fellow inmate hope.

For more about prison outreach within the Phoenix Diocese, check your parish bulletin. Many parishes reach out to inmates through service projects. Also contact the diocesan Office of Ministry to Prisons.
