Benedictine experience
You’ve heard of the NFL experience? How about the Benedictine Monastic Experience. It’s going on all week at the Benedictine Monastery in west Phoenix.
As the name implies, the week is for Catholics interested in daily life at the Benedictine Monastery. Guests will dive deeper into Benedictine spirituality — which is rooted in prayer, hospitality and service — and the Sisters of St. Benedict’s oblate program for lay people.
Although both males and females can be oblates — laypeople committed to a religious community — the Benedictine Monastic Experience is open to women only.

Orders throughout the country host days, weekends and week-long opportunities to journey with the community to see if their way of life is for you. The Benedictie Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Missouri — who make the communion hosts for st. Margaret Mary Parish in Bullhead City — is hosting a summer monastic experience for prospective sisters July 8-14.
