Aloha weekend

Local Catholics can applaud the work Holy Cross priests like Fr. Kevin Sandberg and Vincentian priests have done for the diocese at farewell celebrations this month.
Not only is the weekend almost upon us, but so is the pending departure of two religious orders who have served Phoenix Catholics for a number of years.
You may have read about the Vincentian priests leaving St. Vincent de Paul Parish and the Holy Cross priests leaving St. Gregory Parish. If you missed it, check out the article.
St. Gregory School is hosting an Aloha-themed happy hour tomorrow night in the church hall. Like all happy hours, the event is for the “21 and over” crowd.
Advance registration is required, so check with the parish office for more information. Funds benefit the school’s operating budget.
The entire community is invited to bid Holy Cross Fathers John Dougherty and Kevin Sandberg farewell during an extended hospitality after each Mass June 13-14.
Join in the Vincentian fathers’ final Mass — it will be bilingual — at St. Vincent de Paul Parish 5 p.m. June 27. A reception will follow. Vincentian priests have served the parish for 50 years.
