The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has 16 thrift stores throughout most of the state. Each one is a place where both people in need and the general public can find bargains on clothes, furniture and household items.

This weekend enjoy a 20 percent storewide sale at the Bell Road location in honor of its 20th anniversary. The sale starts today and includes cookies and refreshments. Shoppers can also enter a raffle for larger items such as televisions and bicycles.

And if the store smells a bit new as you shop, it is, in a way. Volunteers from Ascension Parish in Fountain Hills repainted the entire store as an anniversary gift.

Can’t make it to this weekend’s sale? Keep checking with St. Vincent de Paul for a downloadable coupon — the current one posted is expired — good at all of its stores.
