Katie Won, a Catholic gymnast who began competing at level 4 four years ago, is almost ready to compete internationally. I read in Christ the King’s school newsletter today that Won placed first All Around gymnast for Arizona at the Junior Olympic Western Nationals.

When I interviewed her in August, Won was still competing at level 8. Won will officially be named  Arizona’s 2009 Level 9 Most Outstanding Gymnast of the Year in June.

Then take a quick look at part of Won’s floor routine. The video is a rough cut. Maybe we can piece something together by the time she is crowned. As an “All Around” gymnast, she also excels at the beam, vault and bars.
