TV Mass update

A camera operator captures Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted offering the Mass of the Annunciation March 26, 2007.
The weekly televised Sunday Mass helps keep local homebound Catholics connected to their Church. But now, a few changes are coming to the broadcast.
After Easter Sunday, the program will move from KUTP-TV, Channel 45 to KAZT-TV, channel 7 (Cable 13). The broadcasts will also be 90 minutes long. Currently, the program lasts only 60 minutes, and oftentimes the broadcast will end before Mass is over.
Under the new arrangement with AZ-TV, the Diocese will be able to broadcast the entire Mass even if it lasts beyond the hour. There will also be additional time to follow the Mass with features on programs, services and events of the Diocese of Phoenix as well as opportunities to showcase some of the organizations that assist with sponsorship of the Mass broadcast.
“We are pleased to partner with KAZT-TV on the TV Mass Broadcast,” said Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted in a press release. “This new association will allow us to continue and even enhance what has become a vital television ministry to many Catholics in Arizona.”
One Comment so far ...
How has the coverages between Ch 45 and Ch 7 compare? We watch the Mass in the summer while staying in the White Mountains and watch on Dish TV. We had always had Ch 45 to watch. Dish TV customer service
