Another ‘Human Experience’?
The Grassroots Film about what it means to be human in God's eyes, may return to the Valley soon. Stay tuned to www.blogtcs.com and The Catholic Sun for more information.
I got word today that there is effort to bring “The Human Experience” back to the Valley soon. I’ll wait for official word before telling more, but if viewers comments from the last go-around are any indication, it sounds like bringing the independent film back will be worth the investment.
Meanwhile, here is a sampling of the feedback I received from St. Mary’s High School students. They were the first to see the film during its one-day run last month. Common themes, according to Tom Reilly, an administrative assistant at the school, included: the value of each human life, gratitude, the call to service, a new awareness of the meaning and value of suffering, the overcoming of differences, the gift of family and friends, and the need to care for others:
A wake up call for me.
I learned to be more understanding of the people around me.
I developed a higher tolerance for people who are considered “different” or outcasts.
Excellent . . . With much thought and consideration, this movie MUST have been created by God
I cannot believe the suffering I saw and now I feel that I must take full advantage of my life and live life to the fullest
Shocking. I didn’t realize how much people were suffering in the world and that I should be thankful for what I have
The movie made me realize that everyone is connected. Life isn’t just about how much money you have but what you can do to help others
Outstanding. Remarkable. Taught me to give thanks and teach others how to give thanks
The film manages to be very pro-life, yet avoids mentioning the word “abortion”or even alluding to it. Instead, it finds universal ways to show the dignity of every human person and build upon common, and often humorous, experiences.
