Catholic TV
For most of Arizona, Catholic television as we know it is only for an hour or so during the weekly televised Mass at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral. But Web surfers can catch much more than just the Mass online.
I followed a link from the St. Patrick Parish blog this week to learn about Catholic TV. That took me to a National Catholic register article about various faith-based Internet “TV shows” including “WOW: The CatholicTV Challenge. It’s reportedly in its fourth season, but there may be time to catch up as the last posted episode was in October. The quiz show has hints of “Kids Say the Darndest Things” and “Jeopardy.” Third graders compete.
CatholicTV seems to have shows for multiple generations of Catholics. From the daily Mass, rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy for everyone to “Going My Way” which bills itself as a modern-day “The Merv Griffin Show” to animation to travel and comedy, CatholicTV may offer something for Catholics at every age and stage of their faith journey.
