Seton Catholic Preparatory High School Senior Breanna Castro had the honor this week of attending the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama as part of the “Presidential Youth Inauguration Conference.”  Castro received the invitation thanks to her participation in a U.S. “Youth Leadership Conference” during her junior year.

She was able to participate in a tour of the Lincoln Memorial and hear President Obama speak along with performances by several musical stars.  She attended presentations given by General Colon Powell, Archbishop Tutu and former Vice President Al Gore.

Castro was one of 4 million people who poured on to the Mall to hear first-hand the swearing in of our 44th President. She then attended one of the many Inauguration Balls, her being one that featured American Idol star, Chris Daughtry.
