Charity breakfast
A joke about a bolo tie on a Disney Channel show a couple of weeks ago made me recall the last time I heard any mention of a bolo tie. It was late September when I was proofreading Joyce’s feature on Dr. Earl Baker, founder of the Virginia G. Piper Medical and Dental Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul.
That random train of thought reminded me about St. Vincent de Paul’s breakfast fundraiser. It’s tomorrow. That’s when hundreds of people will enjoy a free — or by donation — breakfast while they hear from clients who have turned their lives around from drugs and life of the working poor because of a little help from the agency. Whether it’s medical/dental care, daily food, clothes or some other type of assistance, thousands rely on St. Vincent de Paul to get them through a crisis.
Consider waking up early tomorrow for a good cause:

St. Vincent de Paul will host its annual community breakfast and fundraiser, “Restoring Hope Through Faith and Love,” 7:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at the Camelback Inn, 5402 E. Lincoln Dr. in Scottsdale.
