Catholic Blogs, part 1 of ???
In an effort to stay informed in matters both secular and spiritual, I spend a lot of time reading blogs. I’m also a serial procrastinator, so the Internet is basically my best friend.
(If you, too, are a serial procrastinator, you know well the relationship.)
Anyway, I thought I’d start sharing a few of the blogs I read regularly. There’s a lot of great and exciting things happening with Catholics and new media — the potential for a new evangelization is incredible.
Amy Welborn, a Catholic author, has been blogging for years now. The latest incarnation of her blog is Charlotte was Both. The title comes from the last line of the book “Charlotte’s Web.”
It is not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer. Charlotte was both.
I’ll admit that I didn’t know the provenance of Welborn’s blog’s name until I googled it just now. It’s a good one for a blog, don’t you think?
Welborn was interviewed in The Catholic Sun a while ago for a story Becca did on The Da Vinci Code. She had written a book dispelling some of the more common myths associated with that stupid book.
She blogs on a variety of topics. Sometimes she just passes along links to homilies or talks by the Holy Father. Other times she’ll comment on politics, liturgy, catechesis, books, family life … anything, really. Her interests are broad and her insights are well thought out and argued.
More than anything, she’s just a very good writer, and always a pleasure to read. Check Charlotte was Both out.
