Pro-life news wrapup
As you can imagine, I’ve run across a slew of pro-life news lately. Thought I should share some:

Christ the King Parish in Mesa is displaying 150-200 pink and blue flags in its yard all month to increase awareness about widespread abortion.
* I skimmed some news wire stories earlier this week. One was about the Supreme Court declining to take four abortion-related cases including one from Arizona… (scroll down to read more)
* Another wire story was about pro-life Memorial Day Oct. 6 co-sponsored by 12 pro-life organizations. I liked reading that 20 high school seniors on a field trip saw the protest and joined in.
* On a local level, Christ the King Parish in Mesa is displaying 150-200 pink and blue flags in its yard all month to increase awareness about widespread abortion. The parish says 150-200 babies are killed by abortion every hour, every day in the U.S…. (scroll down to read more)
Pro-life stuff also extends into November around the Valley this year…
Thanks for reading on to learn more about pro-life efforts and hopefully, how to get involved. Here are the details:
- I skimmed some news wire stories earlier this week. One was about the Supreme Court declining to take four abortion-related cases including one from Arizona. In a nutshell, the justices agreed that Arizona’s Motor Vehicle Division would be violating free speech rights if it prevented drivers from ordering a “choose life” specialty license plate. Therefore, the lower court ruling stands. I would say, “Feel free to order a plate” and link you to the page of design options, but that plate may not be ready yet. Maybe contact the MVD, mvdinfo@azdot.gov and express your interest in the plate.
- Another wire story was about pro-life Memorial Day Oct. 6 co-sponsored by 12 pro-life organizations. I liked reading that 20 high school seniors on a field trip saw the protest and joined in.
- On a local level, Christ the King Parish in Mesa is displaying 150-200 pink and blue flags in its yard all month to increase awareness about widespread abortion. The parish says 150-200 babies are killed by abortion every hour, every day in the U.S. Check out the display when you come to a memorial Mass for pregnancy and infant loss Oct. 15. You can also join a Walk to Remember Oct. 18 at St. Timothy Parish in Mesa.
Pro-life stuff also extends into November around the Valley this year…
- 1st Way Pregnancy Center is hosting its annual “Can I Live?” banquet Nov. 8 at Chaparral Suites Hotel in Scottsdale. The event is being underwritten. Reserve a seat or table. Call (602) 261-7522.
- Also, Maggie’s Place is hosting a benefit race Nov. 16 to defray the daily cost of supporting a mom and baby who otherwise would be homeless or alone. Learn more about the organization and meet some moms during the open houses offered this month. For more info on the race and open house, call (602) 262-5555.
It really takes very little to get involved in pro-life work. Prayer is always free and effective.
But if you want to do more, it doesn’t take much to make a difference. I have been repeatedly thanked for dropping off six 79-cent bottles of shampoo and conditioner at Maggie’s Place last month. Apparently, the moms were on their last bottle.
