Bucks from Bashas’

Bashas' is offering a new program for shoppers to give a portion of their grocery bill to non-profits.

A new Bashas' program allows shoppers to give money to their favorite non-profit when they shop.

Catholic parishes, schools and non-profits could receive up to $5,000 a piece — if supermarket shoppers cooperate.

Bashas’ will then donate one percent of the total sales linked to each group, for up to a $5,000 donation. This year’s program runs from Sept. 1 to March 31, 2009, and is available at all 82 Arizona Bashas’ Supermarkets and Bashas’ Diné stores. Shoppers can link up to three non-profit organizations to their discount card.
