St. Paul T-shirt

I’ve found myself on the Life Teen Web site a lot lately. I’ve either been looking up details on its “Give It Away Now!” global service project or peeking at this week’s Priests and Musicians conference agenda trying to decide if there’s a session I should cover.

I’ll admit I’ve also been distracted by their Newsbox on the home page where Life Teen staff posts a sentence or two about world events, people to pray for and, of course, ministry happenings. But it’s the slide show to the left of that (in the center of the page) highlighting what’s on their site that I’m writing about now.

I saw an image of Mother Teresa on a T-shirt and followed the link to the Life Teen store. There I found the Saint T-shirt collection. Appropriately, the top one is in honor of the Year of St. Paul, which the Church is celebrating through June 2009.

The front depicts an image of a sword and a long scroll symbolizing the saint’s many writings. The back says simply, “St. Paul, Pray for Us.” Ordering and of course, wearing, this shirt will accomplish two important things:

  • Keep you in style (well, maybe that’s not so important)
  • Get others praying. For every time you wear this shirt in public, someone is bound to be reading behind your back, “St. Paul, Pray for Us.” It might be a short prayer, but it will be a prayer nonetheless.

So, won’t you consider paying a bit for the shirt? That way, others can pray a bit.

While you’re in the Life Teen store, check out their sale items. I think the socks make a perfect gift for those of you headed to Christmas parties in December to play White Elephant or some other gift exchange game.
