What began as a single parish’s outreach ministry to serve hungry migrant workers in a parking lot 20 years ago has grown into a long-standing community service in which 30 faith partners commit to preparing and serving some 200 people a hot dinner every day in a shaded facility.

The Paz de Cristo Community Center, a project of St. Timothy Parish, also helps struggling families with food boxes twice a month, personal hygiene items and job searches.

Paz de Cristo will celebrate its 20^th anniversary Sept. 13 and rededicate itself to the community. The ceremony — which includes a brief program, refreshments and tours — begins at 10 a.m. at the center, 424 W. Broadway Road.
