Hey World Youth Day pilgrims!

Remember all of that window-shopping you did during WYD and even at the airport in Sydney because WYD merchandise was still going for full price? Well, those days are gone. I got an e-mail late last night announcing a 50% off clearance sale.

 It’s supposedly our last chance to buy the gear. Check out the reduced prices of wydets, shirts, and music.

Also, a note on my previous blog (which I updated) about WYD survey results:

I remember getting an e-mail in May about the online survey to indicate my reasons for going. I never responded — I was more “media” than “pilgrim.” With pilgrim registration ongoing at the time, sounds like many others were left out too.

I read today that stage II of the survey was conducted during World Youth Day, but the final stage will occur some months later “when Catholic life has returned to a more normal level of intensity.” That survey will also be online. And I suspect that registered pilgrims — again English-speaking, I presume — will be invited to share their thoughts.

In trying to find out more about this survey, I ran across a CathNews article about 18 WYD pilgrims seeking asylum in Sydney. One person expects more applicants before their three-month visas expire.
