Traditional Latin Mass Growth

Last issue, I wrote a story about the one year anniversary of the pope’s motu proprio liberalizing celebration of the older form of the Mass.

And while the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter staffs a successful mission dedicated to celebrating the sacraments according to the 1962 Missal, the story focused more on St. Charles Borromeo Parish, a Peoria parish that has begun integrating the Extraordinary Form of the Mass into its weekly schedule.

The pastor there, Fr. Loren Gonzales, runs a blog called Overheard in the Sacristy. Today, he included this post:

Since the publication of “Extraordinary Anniversary” in the July 16 edition of the Phoenix diocesan newspaper, The Catholic Sun, attendance at the weekday offering of the Traditional Latin Mass at St. Charles Borromeo parish has more than doubled.
